Yay! They have punch bags! Definitely missing some workout machines but with pool and sauna that makes up for it. Best thing about this place is it’s mostly empty of gym goers. The most I’ve ever seen is 5 people. Perfect.
The City Baths is a great gym. It has excellent facilities and amazing members of staff.
I was surprised by some negative reviews as for me the staff have been super helpful and friendly. I only use the pool but as a regular swimmer it’s good value and will be great to be able to go again without booking at weekends. I would remove half a star for cleanliness ! It’s fine now but already the grouting in the showers is getting old with touches of rust .

What We Offer:

Newburn Activity Centre is a registered non profit charity, ran by a local community trust. We aim to provide a wide variety of activities at an affordable price to the community. The centre has a wide range of high quality facilities including a double sports hall, gym and fitness and a 12.5 metre high climbing wall. The centre also features a soft play area, outdoor five a side football astro turfs and 11 a side grass football pitches. We have a number of local community group spaces that can be hired out to run groups or activities. Newburn activity centre offers a wide variety of children’s parties whilst we also have a function room available for that special event.

Daughter does gymnastics here and she loves it. There are an abundance of activities to choose from, something for everyone.
Granddaughter attends Newcastle Gymnastics x3 weekday’s, car park can become busy when activities finish at the same times.
Took the children to the soft play here. They absolutely loved it. Ball pools, zip wire and huge slide. They are eager to return.

A wide range of activities for all ages, recent introduction of clip n climb and soft play is fantastic! The only thing letting this place down is it’s facilities. Gym, swimming pool, cafe. Parking is a nightmare most of the time, bicycle shelter available.
Went swimming with little one was good and quiet during school time tho on second visit had to leave early due to people taking photos moved down pool so my kids wouldn’t get included but they continued to take photos down the pool life guard didn’t say anything looked like he was going to fall asleep didn’t like idea of strangers having photos of my little boy and my 17 year old daughter so left did speak to reception but nothing was said.
Kids up to 11 will enjoy it, the climbing is basic fun, but the children jump around castle soft play is superb… many other activities to do inside and surrounding area.
