This is a great pub. More beers, both cask and keg, than you can shake a good sized stick at. The guy behind the bar was very welcoming. He was also very helpful in suggesting other places we could visit while in Newcastle. The place itself is very cosy with plenty of interesting features. There were a few regulars in who were up for a chat and also helped us put our pub list together. We ended up going back on our last night in the city for a last few pints and a momento.
Have you ever seen a better logo? Absolutely adorable. This subterranean bar had a vast array of beer to enjoy. The decor was excellent and linked to the nautical/duck theme. It was a little hard to find, but this could be due to the fact it was pouring down with rain.
Great range of beers, including some locally brewed lager that went down very well. The damson porter was also excellent. Knowledgeable staff really know their stuff and can recommend something unusual but superb for your palette.

Welcoming bar with a good choice of cask and keg, with the environment feeling inviting and comfortable. It’s hard to see the beer choice though if customers sit in front of pumps, needs a list on a blackboard or Untappd perhaps. But, nonetheless, a lovely venue and would recommend.
Chain places wouldn’t really be my thing, but I absolutely loved head of steam!!!! They do fab cocktails. Craft beers and some really good food and I just LOVED their interior, such W cool vibe.
One of the best bar’s I’ve been to in the UK. No fuss – just a great beer selection and a fantastic team, with some great Rock ‘n’ Roll on the sound system. Highly recommended.

Great little craft micro pub with a truly diverse bunch of beers on tap, cask and tins. Had a cognac-infused cake stout that was phenomenal and truly unique!
